Iglesia San Francisco Santiago de Chile

Greetings!

Mar 11

Welcome to Santiago.  I have chosen to head this homepage with the image that epitomises the economic successes Chileans are proud of, a part of Santiago known affectionately (or not!) by locals as Sanhattan!  The hotel is not in this area, but down town, which makes a lot of sightseeing a very easy walk.  It is also located conveniently between two Metro stops on the main line. The area looks nothing like the skyscraper section, which is just as well!

The street the hotel is on is formally Avenida Libertador Bernardo O’Higgins, but is commonly know as the Alameda, as it was once a promenade for Santiago’s upper crust to show off -then called the ‘Alameda de las Delicias‘.  If you travel East on what is the city’s main backbone, and despite various changes of name on the way, you would eventually arrive at Santiago’s very popular ski resorts; and if you head in the opposite direction, you would eventually end up in Valparaíso or Viña del Mar.

I trust this site will have most of the information you will need, or at least enough to get you wondering where you ought to go.  Wherever that may eventually be, ¡buen provecho!

If you have questions to which you think others might also appreciate answers, this may be the best place to post them, and I will try my best to answer them.
